RECAP OF PROJECT SCOPE
The project scope as defined by the community during the Public Outreach of Master Planning. The total acreage for the regional park is 92 acres.  Phase 2 acreage is approximately 26 acres. This will create a large destination for visitors of all ages throughout El Paso to come and visit the complex. Phase 2 includes the following amenities:


  • Two baseball diamond fields
  • Three flat fields
  • Two sand volleyball courts
  • One multiuse court
  • Six handball courts
  • Two public restrooms
  • A walking path around Phase 2
  • Parking and space for food trucks
  • A small maintenance yard


 

PHASE 2 DESIGN PHASE

The design of Phase 2 for the 92-acre park will focus on the design of the sports fields and courts and associated infrastructure of the park.

On January 22nd, 2019, El Paso City Council awarded a design-build contract to Sundt Construction for the second phase of the Eastside Regional Park. The design for Phase 2 begun in April 2019 and is in the process of schematic design and scope of work refinement.

During the development of the scope of work, some modifications have been incorporated as well as areas have been expanded as follows:

  • The flat soccer fields will be championship size to allow for tournaments, the baseball fields will be high school regulation size and will include covered dugouts and spectator seating.
  • The Skate/BMX Park which was originally in Phase 3 will be designed in Phase 2.  Construction of the Skate/BMX Park may be included in Phase 2.
  • The community garden will be constructed as a neighborhood project after the completion of Phase 2.
  • A multi-age, all abilities playground will be centrally located at Eastside Regional Park.
